A Librarian’s World – Early Advertising in Singapore (Fashion, Hospitality and Entertainment)
Ever wondered what librarians do? In this series of monthly talks, find out what makes our librarians tick as they share highlights of their work from the collections of the National Library.
Join us as we reconstruct life and lifestyles in Singapore based on print advertisements from the 1830s to 1960s. Discover Singapore’s fashion trends across different cultures and eras as well as the early days of our local hospitality, F&B and entertainment industries.
This programme is held in conjunction with the exhibition: Selling Dreams: Early Advertising in Singapore, which runs from 20 July 2018 to 24 February 2019 at Level 10 of the National Library.
For more details on the exhibition, please visit http://www.nlb.gov.sg/exhibitions/
Please register via GoLibrary (http://bit.ly/2MmG474) to secure a spot at the talk. Registering on this event page does not constitute a confirmation.
The venue is at Level 5, Possibility Room, National Library Building.
