In September, Yoga Movement will be hosting charity classes to support the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society’s (ACRES) efforts in campaigning against the unnatural treatment and abuse of animals; such as trading wildlife and using animals as photography props.
Classes are donation based, and donation boxes will be placed at all of Yoga Movement’s six locations until the end of September. Attendees of our Sept 8 charity class will be treated to a free mini acai bowl from Grounded, and attendees of our Sept 9 class will get a free coffee from 40 Hands at East Coast. All proceeds will go to ACRES to support them in giving a voice to animals and ending animal abuse. Learn more about ACRES here: http://acres.org.sg/
ABOUT THE PARTNERS
Yoga Movement - Since opening our doors in 2012, Yoga Movement (YM) has set out to do one thing – deliver nothing short of the best in brand and service to those who’ve signed up to the “YM Life”.
We are passionate about delivery with consistency; matching up our culture with our spaces, our music, our team, and most importantly... our teaching. We like to ground ourselves in good food, great coffee, music and art, along with an approachable feel to this crazy thing called yoga.
ACRES - ACRES is an animal protection organisation, driven by their concern for animals. They adopt research projects on the use of animals in various fields. Research findings are then used to educate the public to promote active community involvement in the animal protection movement, as well as strive towards synergistic partnerships with authorities and related parties.
They strongly believe in promoting community involvement in addressing animal protection issues and in building partnerships with all related bodies to improve animal welfare.
40 Hands - With the opening of 40 Hands in October 2010, the beginnings of a coffee revolution started to brew. Product of the combined talents of Harry Grover and the Spa Esprit Group, 40 Hands burst onto the scene as one of the very first coffee joints in Singapore to offer a taste of Third Wave Coffee.
Its mission: to set the benchmark for a new style of neighbourhood cafe, promote sustainability by opting for direct trade and offering delicious specialty coffee made with super fresh beans. Believing that it takes 40 hands to produce a single cup of coffee from bean to cup, 40 Hands is a firm advocate of the specialty coffee movement, championing sustainability, coffee knowledge and appreciation.
Grounded - A concept born out of opportunity, friendship and fun. Located above CMCR Singapore, Grounded occupies the leafy al fresco areas of the Yoga Movement studio in Robertson Quay.
The Cafe aims to be both approachable in name and nature with a relaxed space that combines delicious CMCR coffee with a fun and wholesome menu whilst not compromising on taste.
This beautiful space has quickly become a firm favourite with both yoga students and the local crowd looking for something a little different, a place to linger and relax.
